Timbaland making up a story?

Justin and Selena are getting married! Wait, what?! Let us explain... In May Timbaland attended Justin Timerlake and Jessica Biel's "secret" engagement party.  When asked about the engagement fiesta, the hitmaking producer T. tried to avoid the subject by dropping another bomb: "I'm going to perform at JB's wedding. He's getting married to that girl Selena Gomez." Timbaland told the curious reps.

Could it be that Timbaland was just messing around to distract us from his pal Timberlake's secret plans? Upon questions from a reporter, Timbaland kept saying "What are you talking about?" he then went on to say "I don't know what you are talking about. I'm going to perform at JB's wedding."  
 But , if Timbaland wanted to avoid the topic of Justin TIMBERLAKE by mentioning Justin Bieber?!
Or , he wants just atention...
